Comfort. Adventure at your door.

Six log chalets. A wood stove already burning when you ride back in. And from the front door, the whole backcountry of the Great Northern Peninsula. All you need to do is focus on the adventure.

Snowmobile · where you'll ride

Nine places worth the ride.

These are suggestions, not a fixed itinerary. Your adventure is yours to build. Pick a place and watch the map.

Schematic only. Positions, distances and trails are illustrative, not to scale and not for navigation.
  1. The postcard shot of the peninsula, and far easier to reach by sled in winter than on foot in summer.

Inside Gros Morne National Park. Parks Canada pass required.

  2. South of Western Brook Pond and also inside the park. Pair it with its neighbours for a full Gorge Day.

Early-season wind and blowing snow can bite. If you have a guide, they manage the call.

  3. North of Gros Morne and outside the park. A full-day destination, reachable from every Arluk lodge and doable from the chalets.

Backcountry fuel at an Arluk lodge if arranged in advance.

  4. A short run up Taylor's Brook Road to the 64 km point, then into the valley: dense forest, a chain of ponds, rock faces along frozen waterways. The falls stay open all winter and sometimes ice over completely.

A favourite spring lunch stop. If you have a guide, they can help with photos.

  5. Straight off Taylor's Brook Road. Fresh snow that resets daily, with runs for every ability, from new riders to advanced. Think ski hill, minus the lift line.

    An early-season favourite.

  6. The backbone of the loop routes. Taylor's Brook Road runs close beside it in several places, so a day can start at the Village and go deep into the backcountry.

Loops can start at Arluk Village.

  7. A rock formation that earns its spot on the must-see list. Best admired from a distance, weather permitting, and easy to add to a gorge day.

    Visibility depends on the weather.

  8. An Arluk lodge on the north shore of St. Paul's Big Pond, with a tree-riding zone out back and a trail that climbs the hill. Guides use it for warm-up stops.

All Arluk guests can use any Arluk location.

  9. An impressive stretch of the Humber River, and the doorway to the Silver Mountain region with views over the upper Humber system.

    Reached via Matty's Pond Trail.
